PillowTalk utilize the Novation Impulse 61 controller, MiniNova and UltraNova to recreate live with just three people the myriad parts arranged in their studio.
Sammy D, Ryan Williams and Michael Tello began writing and producing together in 2010 from their shared studio in the Lower Haight district of San Francisco. Their sound grew from organic, improvised jam sessions in Ryan's kitchen, with all three writing songs around his baby grand, to their breakout hit "Love Makes Parks", which was picked up by Seth Troxler and released on his label Visionquest. Following that debut has seen a number of disco and soul-oriented edits released, collaborations with Soul Clap, DJ Tennis, Tanner Ross, and Navid Izadi to name a few, and two EPs on Wolf+Lamb and Life and Death records. In 2012, they were voted 11th in Resident Advisor's 'Top 20 Live Acts' poll.

Impulse is a range of professional USB/MIDI controllers. MiniNova is a compact, super-cool studio and live synth with the same sound engine as its big brother; UltraNova. It comes with 256 incredible onboard sounds that you can tweak with five knobs, or totally warp with eight 'animate' buttons. It has up to 18 voices with as many as five synth effects on each sound. MiniNova also has an onboard VocalTune™ effect as well as a classic vocoder so you can recreate iconic vocal sounds from hip hop, urban and electronic music.
